Title: Co-op, Software Developer, DevOps 

Location: #5 East 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC 

Term: 4 months

Start Date: May 2024, summer term

This Job is for Students pursuing a Career in Computer Science, Software Development. You'll work on a tight-knit team of passionate developers to build and maintain mission-critical cloud platforms that power our social media applications. You’ll pair with a mentor and work within a passionate, egoless team having fun building something bigger than themselves. Experience what it’s like to make a difference in people's lives by building the products that our customers turn messages into meaningful relationships. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Work with mentors to learn the craft of writing software - tools, automation services
  • Work with mentors to learn to build our cloud platform using cloud native technologies
  • Participate in code reviews to continually improve your craft and approach to problem solving
  • Communicate by writing documentation, participating in meetings, and showing off your work at demos
  • Iterate in an agile fashion; creating hypotheses and testing them with incremental changes
  • Working with the AWS platform and modern cloud technologies such as K8s and Terraform, you'll code in various programming languages (Python, PHP, Go, Scala and more) and interacting with various managed relational and NoSQL databases

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • Experience shipping code or a demonstrated interest in programming or cloud technology 
  • A demonstrated history of creative thinking and collaborative problem solving
