You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

Creating a life you love also means finding a career that celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences that you bring. As you read through the expectations of the position, consider how your skills and experiences may complement the responsibilities of the role. We encourage you to think through your relevant and transferable skills from prior experiences.

Our new progressive work model is called PinFlex, a term that’s uniquely Pinterest to describe our flexible approach to living and working. Visit our PinFlex landing page to learn more.

We’re looking for an experienced and thoughtful Lead Product Policy Manager to join our Content Product policy team. Our policy team keeps Pinterest a safe, positive and welcoming environment for our 450+ million global users by developing industry-leading content policies. You’ll develop product policies, advise on new product launches, autonomously lead complex projects, and set the strategy for the product policy function. You’ll ensure our product policies are enforceable at scale and lead on building a strong relationship with product teams. You’ll seek out feedback from internal stakeholders and external experts and collaborate with our Legal, Public Policy, Product and Communications teams. This role will sometimes involve reviewing graphic and disturbing content and discussing difficult subjects.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with your Policy teammates, cross-functional partners, executives and outside experts to craft industry-leading product policies to protect Pinners and keep Pinterest safe and inspiring.
  • Partner with our Trust & Safety and Product teams to provide policy guidance and scale our policy enforcement globally.
  • Anticipate opportunities and advise on risks of new products to help keep Pinterest ahead of the next challenge.
  • Partner with the leadership team to set strategy for product policies, including how to prioritize among competing demands for our time and expertise, and mentor others.
  • Continuously evaluate and iterate on our policy approaches.
  • Evaluate high-profile escalations.
  • Facilitate and productively engage in complex policy discussions, including respectfully challenging team members and xfn partners, using contrarian techniques to strengthen policy analysis, and incorporating new and diverse viewpoints.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in content safety policy, trust and safety operations or product teams, including experience drafting complex policies for a global audience and handling high-profile escalations.
  • Strong understanding of global online safety trends; can identify and mitigate policy risk areas.
  • Experience with scaling policy and enforcement globally.
  • An autonomous leader with strong writing skills and great verbal communication.
  • A skilled relationship builder who maintains collaborative partnerships within your team, across the company, and with outside audiences. Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams including Operations, Product, Legal, Public Policy and Comms.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills: you can assess numerous inputs, weigh tradeoffs, manage ambiguity, and make difficult decisions.
  • A thoughtful leader with a demonstrated experience leading complex projects and mentoring others.
