Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Software Engineer II at our facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to design and build software components of services and/or platforms.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using an agile methodology.
  • Build and modify scalable distributed software systems.
  • Partner with stakeholders and technology teams on how best to implement desired features and enhancements.
  • Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained load.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate to identify, isolate, and resolve malfunctions related to software.
  • Create and evolve system-related documentation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to operational excellence.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of experience.
  • Will also accept a Master’s degree and 1 year of experience.
  • Experience must include 1 year with: software engineering;
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining implementations using SQL Server stored procedures;
  • Documenting code customization in compliance with established standards and practices;
  • Managing deadlines by balancing deliverables from multiple projects, production support, and system administration tasks;
  • Partnering with DBAs, Infrastructure Engineers, and DevOps to monitor, tune, and improve system performance;
  • Advising both business and technology teams (internal and external) on how best to implement desired features and enhancements;
  • Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, easily maintainable and scalable under sustained load;
  • Driving innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development;
  • Resolving issues impacting business teams;
  • Providing training to Business Analysts/Subject Matter Experts as needed;
  • Defining test cases for solutions and assist QA Analysts as needed;
  • SQL and developing modules with relational databases such as MS SQL / T-SQL / Oracle / PostgreSQL;
  • Developing software components and/or services utilizing .Net with C#, JQuery, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, Entity Framework, MVC, Python, web services (SOAP/HTTP, REST);
  • AWS or Azure.
