About the team:

Luno is a market leading crypto exchange on a mission to put the power of crypto into everyone’s hands. You will report to Louis van Wyk in the Treasury team, based in Cape Town. This is an amazing opportunity to join a talented and collaborative Finance function.

The role in a nutshell:

Forming part of our Treasury team, supporting all cash and liquidity related needs powering Luno’s business you will work closely with our financial planning & analysis, finance reporting and control teams across our broader Finance function, as well as collaborating with our Engineering, Product and Operations teams across the business.

Your mission will be:

• Support our crypto P&L liquidation strategy, including managing any foreign exchange and cryptocurrency exposure 
• Funding, forecasting and managing fiat and crypto liquidity needs across different venues
• Own the resolution of reporting discrepancies and anomalies within our working capital accounts and liquidity partner balances
• Drive automation of key treasury (fiat and crypto) processes supporting our instant buy/sell product
• Support our product and engineering teams with new product launches
• Liaise with existing and new bank and payment providers, as well as supporting the business with new country launches
• Perform annual KYC refresher for existing banking and liquidity partners as well as  own onboarding process for new partners
• Work with our broader finance team to monitor and manage float and cash balances to fund operations and regulatory requirements where required
• Prepare financial analysis and calculations for licensing across all regions
• Prepare and distribute performance metrics to relevant stakeholders
• Supporting the operations with our third party crypto custody providers, as well as ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements on our crypto AUM in our various markets
• Implement best practices and automation of key treasury processes; work with key stakeholders in instituting process improvements
• Maintain the Treasury management system used for fiat and crypto reporting

A little about you:

• Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline. Advanced degree in a related area preferred (CA(SA) or CIMA/CGMA preferred)
• 2-3 years of work experience preferred within a Finance or Treasury function
• High attention to detail
• Apply critical, analytical, and forward-thinking skills to problem-solving.
• Leads change through entrepreneurial thinking, a strong sense of responsibility and a very high level of integrity
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong team player 
• Friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed
• Efficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets and other Microsoft/G-Suite products.
• Nice to have: Previous experience building out and or using treasury management software like Kyriba
• Nice to have: Experience with crypto or wallet operations at a crypto or fintech company
